THE SOCIAL, BEHAVIORAL, AND ECONOMIC SCIENCES STATISTICAL INSTITUTE

Intermediate Data Analysis

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

August 1 - August 8, 2009

This workshop is being hosted by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill AGEP and in collaboration with the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science, the nation's oldest multidisciplinary social science university institute.

This workshop will be the first ACSBE Alliance Intermediate Workshop. With the success of the entry level course, the AC-SBE Alliance and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has decided to offer an intermediate course.

WORKSHOP GOALS

The workshop is intended for graduate students that already possess an ENTRY-LEVEL knowledge of statistics (e.g. univariate, bivariate, multivariate stats). The format consists of lecture/discussions and hands-on activities in a teaching computer lab.

Additionally, there are a variety of social activities, primarily to promote inter institutional student bonding.

PRACTICE TEST

In order to determine if you need this workshop, please take the following practice test.  The practice test will open in a web page, we suggest printing it out and taking it with a pencil. We also suggest only viewing answers after completion of the exam to accurately determine if you are in need of the workshop.
